Ronald John Dobransky Sr. June 29, 1931 – May 5, 2025 Ronald John Dobransky Sr., age 93, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. Born on June 29, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, Ron was the cherished son of the late John Joseph and Anna Henrietta (Kancel) Dobransky. A devoted husband, Ron shared nearly 71 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gloria (Doyon). Together they built a loving family, and a life filled with joy, faith, and deep connections. Ron was the proud father of Dennis (Beth) Dobransky, Deborah Dobransky, Robert (Cathie) Dobransky, Paula (Bradley) McMartin, and the late Ronald John Dobransky Jr. He was a treasured grandfather to Christina (Kevin) Hinds, Jennifer (Nick) Rote, Lauren (Alex) Logan, Cody (Sarah) Dobransky, and Drew (Shadow) Dobransky. He also found great joy in his role as great-grandfather to Calvin (Lexi) Hinds, Andrew Hinds, Oliver Rote, Liam Rote, and Joseph Logan. Ron is survived by his siblings, Dolores Spenchian, Betty Jocques, and his sister-in-law Carole Sullivan. He will also be lovingly remembered by many extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by his aunt Margie. Also preceded in death by his in-laws, Edna and Bob Rizzo, and by his brother-in-law George Doyon, Jr. A graduate of Cass Technical High School, Ron went on to serve his country as a United States Navy Submariner during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a Design Supervisor in Research and Development at Ford Motor Company. Ron was a devout Catholic whose faith guided his life. He found joy in dancing, golf, travel, watching sports, and sharing good food paired with good wine or bourbon. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and close friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Road, Novi, Michigan. Memorial visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service. Ron will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, where he will receive military honors.
