Paul Arthur Twigg

Paul Arthur Twigg, born on February 5, 1930, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Paul lived a life rooted in faith, family and service to others. Paul married the love of his life, Mary Ann, in 1954. Together, they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, raising six children: Kenneth (Carolyn), Charles (Joann), Susan (Keith), Christopher (Jeanine), James (Linda), and Paul (Dorina). His family was his heart, and he was an exceptional caretaker role model, always putting his loved ones first. Paul and Mary Ann created lasting memories, especially during holidays and family events, which they made truly special. Paul graduated from the University of Detroit and pursued a successful career as an Architectural Engineer. Beyond his professional achievements, he was known for his humility, integrity, and generosity. Paul was a man of deep faith, praying daily with Mary Ann for their children. He lived by the principle of quality over quantity in both his actions and relationships, always giving of himself to help others. An active volunteer, Paul contributed his skills to the community by helping design and build a camp for the Girl Scouts of America, constructing homes with Habitat for Humanity and being a leader in starting the God’s Helping Hands food and clothing ministry in northern Michigan. After retirement, he and Mary Ann settled on a lake, where countless cherished family memories were made. For his 70th birthday, a "Roast and Toast" celebration was held, but no one could bring themselves to roast him; instead, only fond stories and kind words were shared. Paul and Mary Ann loved traveling and camping across the country, with Alaska holding a special place in his heart. They enjoyed square and round dancing, often attending various events together, and were master bridge players. Paul also found joy in tennis, painting, and gardening. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his children and their spouses; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Mary, Jim, Tom, and Mike. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose, and his siblings Terry, Larry, Bob, and Margaret. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home in Novi from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church in Novi at 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Paul will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford immediately following the Mass. The Mass will be livestreamed, click here during Mass to view the livestream. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Solanus Casey Center Paul's life was a testament to love, faith, and selflessness. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of kindness and devotion will live on through all who knew him.
