Mary Ann Pickarski

Mary Ann Pickarski, born on September 20, 1946, passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 77. Mary Ann was a woman who embraced life with joy, always finding beauty and happiness in the simple pleasures. She had a passion for shopping, loved going out to lunch with her family, and never missed an opportunity to get her hair done or try new things with makeup. Mary Ann's love for jewelry and getting dolled up reflected her desire to look as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Family was Mary Ann's greatest priority and joy in life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Known for her laughter and silliness, Mary Ann's vibrant spirit brought warmth and happiness to all who knew her. Throughout her career, Mary Ann worked in various administrative and finance positions, always bringing her dedication and skill to every role. She was especially proud of earning a certificate from American Airlines for stewardess training, a testament to her adventurous spirit, even though she ultimately chose a different path. Mary Ann had a deep love for music, often filling her home with the sounds of Elvis Presley, Bob Seger, The Beatles, and was delighted in sharing her love of music with those around her. Reading was also one of her favorite pastimes. Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her daughters, Shawne Marie (Eric) Maga and Julie (Ari) Berris; and her grandchildren, Hailee (Alton) McCoy, Mason Maga, Laurel DeMay, Isabella DeMay, and Brayden DeMay. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Angelo Chiaravalli and Malvina Palmieri, and her siblings, Paulina Ricci and Ralph Chiaravalli. Memorial visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home in Novi on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service begins at 12:00 p.m. (noon). In honor of Mary Ann's memory and her courageous battle with cancer, donations can be made to Susan G. Komen, a charity close to her heart. Mary Ann will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
