Caroline May Irvine

April 25, 1933 – September 27, 2024 Caroline M. Irvine, age 91, of Northville, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on September 27, 2024. She was born on April 25, 1933, in Detroit, the only child of William and Stella Andras. Carrie grew up in Detroit and graduated from Northeastern High School. Carrie was married in 1957 to the love of her life James Norman Irvine. Together they had three children, Kimberly Anne (Irvine) Winnik married to Mark David Winnik, Bradley William Irvine, and Craig Allen Irvine married to Vicki Irvine. Carrie was a devoted mother to her children and stayed at home to raise them until the death of her husband in 1973. After Carrie became a widow, she went back to school and graduated from Dorsey Business School. Carrie then had a successful career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as an Executive Assistant and as an Office Manager for the Albrecht Company. Carrie made many lifelong friends while working at the “Blues”. Carrie was also very close with all her cousins throughout her life who were more like siblings to her since she was an only child. However, perhaps, Carrie’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to Alise Marie (Irvine) Kemper, Craig Allen Irvine Jr., James Norman Irvine II, and Ayren Elizabeth Irvine. Carrie loved nothing more than doting on them and would always volunteer to babysit them when they were little. Carrie is also a proud great grandmother of Jackson and Henry Kemper. Carrie also loved her grand fur babies and they loved her back. Carrie found love in her life again and married Casmere (Johnnie) Charobee in 1982. Together they had eight years of happiness before Johnnie passed away in 1990. Carrie’s greatest joy came from her family. She was the center of her family and enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and celebrating holidays with friends and family. She also enjoyed dining out and her favorite meal was lobster. Carrie especially enjoyed travelling and went on many trips with her daughter, close friends and cousins. She travelled and cruised to various locations in the U.S., including Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. Carrie also loved baseball and was one of the Tigers biggest fans. She watched every game on tv proudly wearing her Tiger attire. Carrie was a woman of strong faith and a devout Catholic. She belonged to many parishes during her lifetime but most recently, was a member of St. Kenneth’s in Plymouth MI. Carrie served her church over the years by getting involved in many volunteer activities such as choir, helping with funeral lunches and church picnics. Memorial Visitation for Caroline will be held at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N Haggerty Rd Plymouth, 48170 on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 11:00 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 12:00 pm, with a luncheon immediately following and details provided at the church. Carrie fought a long battle with dementia. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
